I hold a masters degree in Sociology from the university of Hamburg. My research
focused on gender-related risk and chances within migration movements to Germany. For over ten years I have been based in South Africa and Germany and worked as an independent curator, project
coordinator and researcher in the cities of Cape Town, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Berlin. I've facilitated workshops and creative partnerships, for example, with the photographers Hasan & Husain
Essop and worked for the District Six Museum assisting on various curatorial and educational memory projects. My interest and practice is informed by places of remembrance and relate to my belief
in the role of art as a means of resistance and its crucial role in healing the impacts of intergenerational trauma. I have been contributor to Amsterdam-based ZAM Magazine as well as to the blog Africa is a Country and a trained volunteer counsellor at Rape Crisis Cape Town. Since
January 2017 I have been a part of SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin.
